CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE FOR BOARDING CATS
- To protect the health of our boarders, no cat will be admitted without current evidence of inoculation against feline infectious enteritis and cat flu. We will ask you to send a copy of your vaccination record to us well ahead of the admission date as part of the booking process. Please note that to be fully vaccinated a cat must have had an initial course (usually as a kitten) of 2 injections approximately 3 weeks apart, and then wait 2 weeks after the second injection before it is fully protected and able to enter the cattery. A booster injection must then be given each and every year to maintain protection. If booster injections are delayed or lapsed, a restart is likely to be required which will be the same procedure as the initial course detailed above (that is a minimum of 5 weeks after the first injection before your cat can enter the cattery). Please contact us or your vet if you are unsure of your cat’s vaccination status.
- By law, all cats must be implanted with a microchip before they reach the age of 20 weeks and their contact details stored and kept up to date in a pet microchipping database. If you have not already done so, please ensure your cat has a microchip or make an appointment with your vet for this to be done before any booking with us.
-
If any cat/s do not meet our vaccination requirements we reserve the right to refuse entry to the cattery and the customer will forfeit all payments made to Nutley Farm for the applicable booking and continue to be liable for any outstanding balance of fees as per our cancellation policy.
- No cat suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from any infectious or contagious disease or serious illness or injury can be accepted. Responsible owners will appreciate that this policy is essential to safeguard the health and well being of all our boarders. We reserve the right to refuse admission in these circumstances, and may require a veterinary examination to take place to determine if we are able to admit your cat/s. Our usual cancellation policies will apply.
- If we have to cancel a booking for any other reason, clients will be entitled to either a customer credit for any payments applied to the affected booking(s) or a refund. Clients will not be entitled to any other form of compensation.
-
Only cats from the same household can be boarded together in a family chalet. If cats have to be separated during the stay, the additional cost of accommodation will be charged. If the cattery is fully booked, arrangements for an emergency contact to collect one or both cats must be made.
- No un-neutered adult male cats over the age of 6 months can be accepted to the cattery.
-
During your cat’s boarding at Nutley Farm we reserve the right to discuss your cats medical records and care with their registered vet practice and obtain any medical treatment, if necessary, from a vet of our choice. Currently the registered vet for Nutley Farm Cattery is Sylwester Kolodziejcz at Vets for Pets in Sevenoaks, who will be our first point of contact should your cat become unwell during their stay, although we reserve the right to use the services of any other vet if necessary. The cost of any vet bills incurred will remain your responsibility and is payable to us upon departure.
- Regular flea and worming treatment is essential to safeguard the health of your cats and should be administered regularly under veterinary supervision. We do not accept cats treated with over the counter products, as these are often ineffective. In case of any signs of fleas infestation we will treat the cat at our discretion. Our first action will be to administer an oral medication (Johnsons 4 Fleas) to eliminate existing fleas, which will be charged for (£5.00). If the infestation is severe, an additional cost will apply, being the cost of treatment plus a £30.00 fee for travelling costs to our vets and our time). If no regular treatment is administered, please treat your cat at least two weeks prior to the arrival with a veterinary prescribed product to ensure any existing parasites are eliminated. For all bookings we will require you to advise us of the products used and bring or send evidence of the products used.
-
Due to the extremely high demand for places with us, all new bookings will be subject to a 50% non refundable and non-transferable deposit. Full payment must be made in advance of the cat(s) arrival to the cattery, except in long term boarding, where an arrangement is made for the account to be settled monthly (in advance). In some cases (usually summer holidays and other peak times), full non refundable payment may be required at the time of booking.
- A full day boarding is charged for the day of arrival and the day of departure.
-
It is the owners’ responsibility to ensure that they have collected all their belongings at the end of a stay.
- Payment is by cash or via bank transfer only. We regret to advise that we do not have debit/credit card payment facilities at this time, nor can we accept cheques.
- No booking fee reduction can be made if the owners wish to collect their cat earlier than agreed dates.
-
Cats must be brought in a secure carrier which must remain on the premises. We cannot be held responsible for the consequences of the malfunction of your carrying equipment.
- We reserve the right to take appropriate actions in the cat’s best interest should collection not be made at the agreed time. It is your responsibility to ensure that if you are unable to collect in person, then another nominated individual must be sent to collect your cat. If the cattery is fully booked we will not be able to extend your stay under any circumstances. In the event that a cat is left beyond the agreed boarding period without any contact from the owner, the cat will be passed to a re-homing charity at our discretion (currently Rescued Animals in Need).
-
During the summer period (July to Mid September inclusive) a minimum fee of seven days boarding will be charged, regardless of the duration of the stay. At other peak times a minimum fee of five days will be charged, otherwise a minimum boarding fee is equivalent to four days.

We would like you to feel assured that we are responsible animal carers. Every possible step is taken to ensure the health and safety of your pet whilst in our care.
However, all pets are boarded strictly at their owner’s risk.
If booking for more than one cat from your household, we will assume that you require the cats to be housed together in a larger chalet, unless otherwise specified.
Please consider the suitability of our penthouse chalets if your cat is elderly, ill, very young or disabled as they need to be able to access the unit via a ramp or by jumping on to the entry platform. If you are at all unsure please contact us for advice.
We are registered for veterinary support with Sylwester Kolodziejcz of Vets 4 Pets in Sevenoaks, who will be our first point of contact should your cat become unwell during their stay. We are also registered with Newnham Court Veterinary Hospital for out of hours support.
By submitting the booking form and/or contact form you agree to the terms and conditions of Nutley Farm Cattery and our privacy policy.
